One Day in Montreal

Notre Dame Basilica, MontrealOnly five hours driving separate Toronto from Montreal. It is close enough to visit this lovely Quebec’s city often, but not so to visit it just for the weekend. Anyway if there is a chance to come to Montreal late Friday afternoon and stay for couple nights we take it and never regret. French Canada is totally different and have its own charm.
The last visit was right by the time of Just For Laugh Festival that many people familiar with because of the TV Show with the same name. It is funny and exiting event which brings and attracts many of tourists from different countries. We came with our friends who have never been to Montreal before and were glad they got a lot of fun, impressions and delight.

    • Sabine, plan another tour to Montreal. A lot of changes in the city were done in these 10 years.

  2. “The English Pug and the French Poodle”; I suspect it’s a satirical sculptural protest against the long-standing Anglophone-Francophone tension in Canada but I’m still unsure. Much more investigating to do on this one.

  3. I enjoyed getting to know Montreal through your lovely photos. The man with dog and the lady with dog are intriguing statues.

    • Thank you, Anna. Many visitors like these two pictures and ask about them. I made more detailed description of them in the gallery. If you would like you can read it.
      Cheers from Canada. 🙂

      • Oh thank you. I did go through the gallery but I must have missed the descriptions; too busy looking at the statues, I suppose. 😀

      • My first reply said to you how hard you must have worked not only in obtaining these images, put putting this post together. I really thank you for showing me Montreal. I hope you have a really good day!!! Love, Amy ❤

      • Thank you, Amy. When you like what you do it doesn’t matter how much efforts it takes. Because I was not alone there I could not go and do my way. That’s why the set of Montreal pictures does not completely show the beauty of the city.
        Have a nice weekend! 🙂

  9. What a beautiful gallery, Alexander! I especially love the statues. You captured them well. You brought them to life.
    Delightful!

    • Thank you, Theadora. After Paris trip I’ve just inhaled a little bit of France. As I’ve mentioned in my post we visited Montreal with our friends. Jacqueline was born and grew up in Paris and for her it was real fun to speak French there. She found Quebec French strange but cute.
