I never had dogs but friend of mine did. His dog was not as big however big enough. My friend fed him once a day, let him run and do exercises, kept him active. His dog was in great shape. When I tried to treat the dog I had a lot of problem. Since then when I see overweighted dogs I am sorry for them. The owners do not understand the nature of their dogs.
Actually, recently I read the human get as much as 4 times food more than necessary for healthy life.
