Ceiling

The most fun job is to build the ceiling. The Embassy ceiling system is the best choice to make the basement ceiling looking nice and clean. Finally I came to the end of the project. Perhaps I will make few pictures of the final product to let you know how it looks like and why I decided to make this job. It was absolutely uninhabitable space and now it is nice and cozy place for work, relax and entertain.
Do not forget to open one of the pictures and follow by arrow to watch every single picture in bigger size.

Tiling

The reportage about project is coming to the end and this post is about shower tiling. The last and final post will come soon. After that no more boring reading and galleries.

Wall finishing

Boring pandemic time is still in progress and my boring posts still in progress too.

Framing is done and now the time to finish the walls. It is still too much work to do and some of it is not really pleasant. Let’s start from the drywall installation.

And now the dirtiest part of project has to be done – to put the mud to make the walls smooth and nice.

Making the clouds of dust. Sanding.

Painting is the artistic part of the project.

Partially finished project – laundry room.

Plumbing and Sewer

After framing is done the next step is to build the water and sewer piping to laundry and bathroom. The most time consuming job is plumbing. To trace all the pipes, to choose right connectors, to solder them, and to fit all that stuff to appliances is quite a project.

Compare with the plumbing the sewer is kind of relaxing and enjoying process. Just measure, cut, glue and vu à la you have it done.

It was necessary to relocate some existing pipes, such as furnace exhaust, to make then easer creation of the bulkheads.

Framing

My post “One year project” is about very special subject. I was doubt at all to show it in this particular place because here most of the people are interested in the poetry, literature, history, photography, philosophy, culinary, nature, entertainment, etc. However, some visitors showed interest in this topic and asked to continue publishing. It is the reason of my next post. I am not going to load all of the visitors with detailed guide how to do it. I only would like to place some pictures about what was done and how it looks in progress. It is just very brief set of pictures even about framing.
With that purpose, to save the time for visitors who is not really interested in that subject I put all of the pictures in gallery where you can see all of them in a small size at once. For those who is interested please click on any picture in gallery and follow by arrow to watch pictures in bigger size one by one.

One year project.

Because of pandemic we are closed in our small area. The feeling is a little bit close to claustrophobic and there is nothing new to show to my audience. This is why I decided to show what I’ve been doing for almost one year. This project  was done in my spare time like evenings, weekends, some vacation, etc. All jobs were done by author of this post except electrical. Perhaps I will show in the next posts the details of all steps – framing, plumbing, drywalling, plastering, painting, ceiling installation, trimming, etc. I am not professional contractor. Whatever I do is just one of my hobbies.
At least you will know a little bit more about person you are following, putting likes and comments for my humble photo projects. I am not speaker, not writer and cannot write a lot of words. The only thing how I can express myself is stuff I can do by my hands and imaginations.

All the pictures have been made from the same point of view before and after renovation. Thank you for following  and kind comments.
I really hope this terrible time will pass and all of us come back to normal life. But for now it is very important to stay calm, safe and healthy.

I would like to wish to all of you to stay safe and strong!
